Quote Read

Check a builder's quote before you sign

Already have a builder's quote and not sure what it actually covers? Quote Read is an independent check of your quote against your drawings — what it includes, what it leaves out, and what it leaves open — so you can go back to your builder with the right questions before you sign. It is a completeness check, not a second opinion on price.

Questions for Your Builder

The specific points worth clarifying before you sign, ordered by how much they matter.

What it is not

So the engagement is clear from the outset:

  • It is not an independent cost position or a re-priced figure — for that, see Foundation.
  • It is not a building, structural, pest or condition inspection.
  • It is not a savings or design trade-off analysis — for that, see Realignment.
  • It is not a tender process or the sourcing of further quotes — for that, see Tender Support.
  • It is not engineering or design advice, and not a recommendation of a builder or designer.

Frequently asked questions

Will a Quote Read tell me if the price is fair?

No — it is not a second opinion on price. It checks whether the quote’s scope matches your drawings, so you know what you are actually comparing against your budget.

What do you need from me?

Your builder’s quote in full, and the drawing set it was priced against. Both are required.

How long does a Quote Read take?

Typically 3 to 5 business days, measured from the latest of payment or receipt of both documents.

What if the quote turns out to have gaps?

The Quote Read gives you the specific questions to put to your builder. If the gaps point to a budget problem, Realignment can help; if the quote cannot be relied on as a basis for comparison, Tender Support can manage a structured re-tender.
